City Of Tallmadge Director Of Finance
           Steve Shanafelt (DEM)  .  .  .  .  .  .     4,613  100.00
Democrats retain the elected positions of Law Director  and Finance Director.  Megan Raber will replace Penny Taylor who is retiring at the end of the year and Steve Shanafelt will replace Jill Stritch who is also retiring from public office at the end of the year. Tallmadge was served well by Penny and Jill, with Megan and Steve carrying on the tradition of sound, competent, and faithful service to the citizens of Tallmadge.
City Of Tallmadge Ward 1 Council
           Linda Poinar (DEM)  .  .  .  .  .  .  .          1,060   68.04
           Gary Lampe (REP) .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .             498   31.96
Council President Linda Poinar "shuttered" the windows on her Republican opponent by running a positive campaign on her stellar record of serving the constituents of Ward 1 while her opponent ran a negative campaign in an attempt to confuse voters. Ward 1 residents easily saw through the negative and  dishonest campaign tactics to resoundingly re-elect Linda to a fourth term.

           Carol Siciliano-Kilway (DEM) .  .  .  .    783   55.41
           John D. Rensel (REP).  .  .  .  .  .  .          630   44.59
Ward 4 residents welcomed a new face on Tallmadge City Council by electing Carol Siciliano-Kilway as their representative for Ward 4. Some may call it an upset, but Carol, whose family is owner of a Tallmadge machine shop and she being active in Tallmadge civic activities for years will tell you she won by hard work and getting out ot meet her constituents, something Carol plans to continue as our new council person in the city. Cheers to Carol and welcome aboard!
City Of Tallmadge Ward 3 Council
           Jim Donovan (DEM).  .  .  .  .  .  .  .      1,090   65.39
           Patricia McQuillen Billow (REP) .  .  .    577   34.61
Council Vice-President Jim Donovan, Ward 3 Councilman and Tallmadge business-owner (Donovan Funeral Home)  easily defeated his Republican opponent by a two-to-one margin in retaining his seat for a second term.  We look forward to the next four years of Jim's sound judgement as a representative of Ward 3.
Ohioans reject John Kasich's draconian Senate Bill 5 (Issue 2) that was a full frontal assualt on working middle-class Ohioans in by a huge margin!  Kasich's effort, designed and orchestrated by ALEC anbd the US Chamber of Commerce, was another attack on the middle class by the right-wing corporate sponsored 1%  to usurp any voice left in our democracy in order to set in place a government bought and paid for by the corporations.  "We the People" spoke out against our ex-Wall Street governor on November 8th to fight back for the middle class and we must continue to fight for th 99% at the polls and in the streets to keep direct democracy alive in America.  They may be ruthless and they have BIG Money to push their fascist agenda, but we have the power in our vote if we elect to use it.
